Because experience has shown that if we do not then people may book appointments and then not turn up, thus wasting our time. As demand is so high, we cannot afford to do this.
We have 10 very successful years of patients being treated this way. See some of their comments on the What our patients say page.
Please see the sections on research and training for more information. We are a UK based company and subject to all UK regulation. Our tutors are all highly experienced and the teaching ratio is a maximum of one to four allowing for close supervision. All the dentists being trained are registered to work in the UK.
Nobody can guarantee that any given implant will work – it is misleading to do so. The success rates for implants are very high, but as each one is reliant upon the natural healing processes of the bone, they occasionally do fail. This can be more of a risk in certain individuals and we can advise you on this. In the unlikely event that an implant does fail, it is usually possible to provide a replacement.
Implant treatment can be protracted, and rushing treatment increases the risk of problems and failure.
You could be treated by the trainers instead by visiting the Oracle dental clinic.
It is difficult to be specific, but a single tooth replacement requires an implant and abutment and a crown – added together, these give the cost of the replacement tooth. If comparing costs, ensure that you are comparing the same thing, as an implant is only half the story. See our price list for more information.
It is very uncommon for patients to experience any discomfort during implant placement. However, most patients experience a small amount of discomfort following placement, which is easily controlled with over the counter drugs.
Most patients experience mild swelling over the implant area for one to three days. If a graft is placed or multiple implants are placed, the swelling may be more pronounced. However, it will reduce after three days.
In most cases, patients can return to work the following day. In cases where grafts have been placed or where heavy physical work is carried out, 3 days away from work should be allowed.
In our experience this will depend upon the quality and quantity of bone available at the time of implant placement, the healing response following treatment and the level of maintenance carried out by the patient. Once integrated an implant should last very many years – potentially even a lifetime.
Yes, from both the patient and our team. Dental implants can require maintenance and repair of their above gum components, similar to crown and bridgework.
We generally do not recommend sedation for all cases unless the patient requests otherwise. Sedation is not a general anaesthetic, which is a safe, predictable method of ensuring a patient’s comfort during placement.
