Check Ups

A check-up allows your dentist to see if you have any dental problems and helps you keep your mouth healthy. Leaving problems untreated could make them more difficult to treat in the future.

Composite Build-ups

Composite build-ups are used to improve the colour, shape and size of teeth to make them more aesthetically pleasing. They can be used to fix minor chips and cracks in teeth. They are different from porcelain veneers in that they require little if any tooth reduction (drilling) and the treatment can be completed in a single visit. To create composite build-ups, composite material is applied to the front surfaces of the teeth and sculpted to the desired shape and finish under the hands of an experienced cosmetic dentist.

What are composite veneers used for?

Composite veneers can be used to treat a wide range of cosmetic dental problems in the same way porcelain veneers are used. Common problems include:

  • Crooked teeth – If your teeth are crooked, an ideal way to achieve a straight white smile would be to undergo rapid orthodontic treatment with something like the Inman Aligner, Six Month Smiles® or Invisalign®, followed by teeth whitening and composite veneers.
  • Stained teeth – When there are undesirable stains, white patches, and/or discolouration of the teeth which cannot be treated with a dental clean or teeth whitening alone, then composite veneers are an ideal solution.
  • Damaged teeth – When your teeth have been damaged by acid erosion (via bulimia or things such as fizzy soft drinks) or chipped by accident, composite veneers (cosmetic bonding) are often the most ideal, minimally invasive and cost-effective solution.
  • Closing gaps between teeth – One of the most common cosmetic complaints that composite bonding is used for is to close gaps between the front teeth (diastema) or between other teeth. This treatment can be completed in a single visit and is a very cost-effective alternative to orthodontic treatment or porcelain veneers.

Dentures

Many people lose some or all of their teeth. Dentures, whether full or partial, are a removable solution for the replacement of missing teeth, be that multiple teeth or a full set. This is the treatment of choice if there are insufficient teeth to support a bridge. Several impressions of the mouth are taken using various types of putty, which are then cast into a mould which is used by a laboratory to manufacture your denture. There are many different types of teeth to choose from in different sizes and shades, and we also pay attention to the appearance of the artificial gum.

You will be guided through the process and given the opportunity to assist in the choice of teeth and therefore the resulting appearance. Dental implants are becoming the alternative option to dentures, but if dentures are the only solution then there is no need to have teeth that look false. With careful planning and thought, even full dentures can be made to look natural.

Crowns

Crowns are used to restore both anterior and posterior teeth that have been broken or are at high risk of breaking due to oversized fillings or fractures. There are a variety of materials available to construct these, such as gold, porcelain bonded to metal, or all ceramic.

From £800

Bridges

Bridges are fixed or non-removable prosthesis constructed to replace one or more missing teeth. Either one or both teeth adjacent to the space are used to anchor the bridge to restore function as well as appearance. Like crowns, bridges can be made of porcelain bonded to metal or all ceramic. Because there is interference with the adjacent teeth, more and more people are opting for dental implants as an alternative to sacrificing sometimes healthy teeth.
