Jason Buglass BDS

Jason Buglass has been providing implant dentistry since 1993, and has placed thousands of implants since then.

He lectures in the UK, having successfully run courses teaching implant dentistry since 2000. He attends national and international congresses and is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology running a midlands based ADI group and Treasurer of the BSOI.

He is a member of the European Association of Osseointegration, is an ITI member and a fellow of The Straumann Clinic, University of Berne, Switzerland.

Richard Oliver BDS BSc PhD FDSRCPS FDS(OS)RCPS

Specialist in Oral Surgery

Richard was born and raised in Shropshire and qualified from The University of Manchester in 1993. He completed his PhD in Glasgow in 1998 and subsequently undertook a training in academic oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was previously senior lecturer and consultant in oral surgery at the University Dental Hospital in Manchester where his clinical practice and research have been largely in the field of dental implants, bone grafting and major oral surgery.

He has published over 50 papers, co-authored a textbook and has recently been appointed to the Editorial Board of Dental Update. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and on the Advisory Board for Oral Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is an examiner and on the committee for the post-qualification certificate in Dental Sedation for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.

Kevin Bruce, BDS Glasg FDS RCS Eng

Kevin graduated from Glasgow University with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery in 1995 and the final year prize in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology.

From 1996 until 2000 Mr Bruce worked and trained in the hospital based dental speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His resident postings were in the South West of England in both civilian and mixed civilian/armed force units where as part of a multidisciplinary team he treated everything from wisdom teeth removal and broken facial bones to advanced trauma and cancer cases.

He gained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1999.

Mr Bruce left the hospitals service in 2000 and worked in general dental practice in both England and his native Scotland. Whilst in general practice, he also worked in his local hospitals as a visiting dental practitioner in the specialties of Orthodontics and Oral Surgery. In addition to his years of hospital surgical training, Mr Bruce has undertaken extensive postgraduate training throughout Europe and the USA in implant dentistry and its associated procedures.

Mr Bruce is a partner in a private cosmetic and implant practice in Glasgow and works monthly sessions at the Grace House private dental clinic in Birmingham. He mentors and lectures dentists and ancillary staff from all over the UK in the field of implant dentistry at the Dentale teaching clinic in Shrewsbury.

Chaido Akrivopoulou DDS, MClinDent(Lond)

Dr Chaido Akrivopoulou graduated from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany in 2005. After gaining valuable experience in general dentistry and oral surgery in private practice in Frankfurt, Chaido moved to the UK. In 2007 she was selected for the specialist training in Periodontology at the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute (University College London), which she has successfully completed. This is one of the very few programmes in Europe and the only one in the UK, which are recognized from the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP). In 2009 Chaido was appointed as a part time Honorary Clinical Assistant in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital. She is also actively involved in research, both in the field of clinical oral microbiology and in implant dentistry. Chaido is about to complete her Doctorate thesis on the survival and success of fixed partial dentures on Ankylos® implants.

Chaido has extensive experience with the treatment of advanced gum disease with expertise on both conventional and regenerative periodontal surgery, as well as periodontal plastic surgery and complex implant therapy. The treatment modalities our periodontist is applying are based on the latest available scientific evidence and are aiming at achieving long-term periodontal health and addressing the patient’s functional and aesthetic demands.

Mark Lester BDS (Bris), MFD RCS (Ed), MSc (Manc, MPros(Ed)

Specialist in Prosthodontics

Mark is originally from Manchester, he graduated from Bristol University in 2000. He spent 2 years working at Plymouth Hospital as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a period at Cardiff Dental Hospital as a Senior House Officer in the Restorative Department. Following this he undertook an MSc in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at Manchester University followed by specialist training in Prosthodontics leading to an MRD.

Mark has been actively involved in research both in resin bonded bridges and the effects of Carisolv gel on deciduous dentine. His study on the latter was published in 2000.

Mark now lives in Harbourne, Birmingham with his wife and young son. In his spare time he enjoys being with his family and playing the odd leisurely round of golf.


Nurses

Rachel Thomas GDC Reg No. 131853

Rachel has been a dental nurse for over 10 years and an implant nurse for over 4 years. The clinic is extremely busy, placing in excess of 1000 implants a year. Her main role is to make sure all of the surgeries run smoothly, carrying out nursing duties and fully supporting our team of nurses and dentists who attend our courses. Her hobbies outside work are horse riding, walking her dogs and enjoying the country life.

Hannah Davies GDC Reg No. 164446

Hannah qualified in 2008 as a dental nurse and worked for 2 years in general dentistry prior to pursuing a career in implant dentistry. Hannah successfully completed her dental radiography qualification. In addition to nursing at Dentale she is also the Head Nurse at Oracle Dental clinics.

Laura Pugh GDC Reg No. 196946

Laura has recently taken on the role as our Head Nurse, to cover for Rachel Thomas who is currently on maternity leave. Laura is a qualified dental nurse with several years of implant nursing experience. She has also gained her radiography qualification. Laura trained with the Primary Care Trust working with special needs patients, providing emergency clinics for non registered patients, domiciliary visits and assisted in treatments in hospitals and prisons. Prior to Laura’s nursing career she spent 6 years working in administration and finance gaining qualifications up to NVQ level 3.

Laura enjoys walking her dog William, socialising and has a passion for fashion!

Emma Osterholm GDC Reg No. 147429

Emma qualified as a dental nurse in 2007 from Bristol Dental Hospital and has since worked in both NHS and private practices. She now works at Dentale, Bristol as our clinical implant nurse. Supporting her work colleagues in organising the clinics her role has been pivotal in establishing the clinic and ensuring its continuing success. Her hobbies outside work are reading and enjoying time with family and friends.

Reka Kovacs GDC Reg No. 191509

A dental nurse since 2007, Reka started her career in a general dental practice, and gained significant additional experience in orthodontic nursing and implant nursing before joining Dentale as a clinic implant nurse in summer 2011. A member of the British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN) and having qualified from Bristol University in 2010, Reka is currently undertaking a dental radiography qualification. Her hobbies outside work include keeping fit by taking weekly core conditioning classes and walking her two dogs.

Ewelina Sosnowska GDC Reg No. 186752

A member of the British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN), Ewelina has worked as a dental nurse since 2006, and achieved NVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing from Cardiff University in 2009. Prior to coming on board with Dentale in the summer of 2011, Ewelina gained experience by working in a private dental practice in South Wales, where she originally developed an interest in implant dentistry. Away from the Dentale treatment rooms and surgeries, Ewelina enjoys going to the gym and motor biking.


Management

Debbie Snelson

Debbie has more than 20-years experience working in education and training, spanning both the public and private sectors, and a variety of industries.

She came on board at Dentale in 2008 following a successful spell as National Training Manager for the English Federation of Disability Sport, and is now responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and ongoing expansion of Dentale’s group of training clinics.

With a proven track record of not only managing, but devising innovative and effective training and education programmes, Debbie and her team will continue to ensure Dentale delivers the highest quality service for both dentists and patients.

Course Administrators

Hannah Jellicoe

Hannah has been involved in medical practices for the last 6 years. She worked as Head Receptionist and Patient Coordinator at the London Medical Centre, Harley Street for 3 years.

Hannah moved to Shropshire and joined Dentale, Shrewsbury as our Course Co-ordinator in 2009. She very much enjoys all aspects of Dentale from arranging consultations and organising clinic days. Hannah is also a fully qualified Sports Therapist.

Sarah Lansdown GDC Reg No. 139869

Sarah qualified as a dental nurse from Bristol Dental Hospital in 1997 and has since worked for both NHS and private dental practices. She is GDC registered and a member of the BDA and BDPMA.

In 2005 Sarah assisted vocational dental surgeons in their first year of qualifying as an operations manager for a large practice in managing and training a strong team of 20 staff with 15,000 patients. It was during this time that Sarah also found herself tutoring and training Dental nurses in the field.

Sarah joined our team at Dentale in March 2010 as our Course Co-ordinator and is currently studying for her HND in Management and Leadership at Weston Technical College. Sarah was awarded the City and Guilds Diploma in Dental Nursing in recognition of achievement through education , training and employment.

And in her spare time Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and working voluntarily for the ambulance service.

Jade Plomer

Jade has been employed in the retail sector since the age of 18, working her way up to assistant manager and gaining qualifications in customer service and relations. However after wanting a change in direction she chose to become involved in the dental industry and joined Dentale in March 2012. She enjoys all aspects of Dentale, from arranging appointments to organising courses and interacting with patients and delegates alike.
